A company planning the development of a new full-cycle foundry facility as part of its long-term industrial growth strategy.
[01] CONTEXT The client required the development of a new full-cycle foundry for the production of cast iron castings with specified quality and production performance requirements. The project involved the creation of a technologically balanced production facility while meeting environmental, engineering, and operational requirements.
[02] OBJECTIVE To design and prepare for construction a foundry complex with an annual production capacity of 55,000 tonnes of cast iron castings.
[03] SOLUTION Basic engineering and project documentation were developed for a full-cycle foundry facility with the integration of all process and engineering systems.
The project included the development of the following production areas:
— melting shop
— raw material preparation area
— core making facility
— moulding sand preparation facility
— pouring and cooling area
— casting cleaning and finishing area
In addition, the following engineering systems were developed:
— air pollution control system
— water treatment system
— waste management system
[04] RESULT A technologically balanced full-cycle foundry production concept was developed. Complete project documentation was prepared for implementation and future construction of the facility.
The design achieved a planned production capacity of 55,000 tonnes of castings per year.
